How the e-conomic online accounting software began, and where we are today

The e-conomic online accounting software was founded in 2001 by chartered accountant Jacob Wandt, who at an early stage of his career soon realized that nearly all the work that was passing through his hands had already been ‘done’ in some form by someone else before him. This simply didn’t make sense from an effective business perspective and thus the idea of a cooperation platform was born.


Anders Bjornsbo



Once the e-conomic application was ready to be launched and spread to consumers in 2002, Anders Bjørnsbo joined the project. He had the knowledge and ability to convince the right people that the e-conomic accounting software was a clear winner.


Torben Frigaard Rasmussen



After 7 months as Chairman of the Board, Torben Frigaard Rasmussen then joined e-conomic as the new CEO in the fall of 2008. He has since implemented e-conomic's mission to reach 100,000 customers by the end of 2013.
