The Fixed assets module assists you in creating, managing and depreciating your fixed assets. The Fixed assets module can be found within the various additional modules.
Is the asset list integrated with the accounts?
Yes, it is. Under "Asset groups" you will see a complete overview of which accounts an asset list is connected to.
Can I make full depreciations for the first year even though some invoices arrive later during the year?
Yes, you can. When you enter the asset in the asset list, you just enter 1 January as the “Start date”.
How are first month depreciations calculated?
They are calculated in proportion to the number of days left in the month from the start date specified. So if you wish to depreciate a full month for an asset bought e.g. in the middle of the month, you just enter the first day of the month as the start date.
Can I import external asset lists?
Yes, it is possible to import external asset lists.
Can I make all depreciations in one go?
Yes, you can. Go to the settings menu and click “Accounting years”. Here you click the “Periods” icon for a given accounting year, and finally you click the "Depreciate" icon for the periods you wish to depreciate.
Can I make adjustments to the asset list?
You can always make an addition to a fixed asset, but if you want to reduce the asset you have to “sell” the asset first and then reenter the part of the asset you wish to keep. Actual revaluations and write-downs are not supported by e-conomic.
Can I depreciate according to both the “straight-line method” and the “diminishing-balance method”?
You can only perform straight-line depreciations as reduction of balance depreciations or depreciation for tax purposes is not supported by e-conomic.
Can I export the actual status of the asset list for year end reporting purposes?
Yes, you can. Just click the given "Fixed assets" report and then click the "Show in Excel" icon.
