An app is a program or a connection that allows for data exchange between e-conomic and another program, e.g. a webshop. The connection automates many of the administrative tasks between the two systems so you can spend less time on manual tasks in your company.

With an e-conomic subscription, you also have access to our API - a free add-on module that you can activate yourself. We made a small video that shows how you activate the API in e-conomic.

Your choice of programming language is not critical as e-conomic uses open web-based standards (SOAP) for the communication.

No, you can create an app whether or not you have in-house development resources.

If you have in-house development resources, there is a good chance that you can develop the necessary integration between your systems and e-conomic yourself as e-conomic's API uses open standards.

If you don't have access to development resources and you are looking for a solution that is not available on our list of apps, you can hire external technical experts.

e-conomic's API is fully documented on our website. The API is written in .NET and we therefore provide an extra development package for .NET developers, but you can also access the API from PHP, JAVA and other programming languages as it is exposed through a SOAP interface.

If you have a specific question or problem, where your code doesn't work or the API doesn't respond the way you expected, you may write our API support. e-conomic's developers will then look into the problem and get back to you within 1-2 working days

You can also draw on the experiences of other developers and partners in our API Forum. Here you can ask other developers who work with e-conomic's API whether they have any solutions to your problem or can guide you in your choice of solution.
