November system improvements

November 16, 2010

A new Market Package was released today, containing a number of new features as well as new local functionality

With today´s release of the 25th e-conomic Market Package, e-conomic will be generally improved in several areas. Moreover, Germany, Poland, Sweden and the UK can enjoy new local functionality

Small/Standard improvements

  • It is now possible to have the first accounting year start on any day of the month as opposed to only the first day of the month. (Note that this does NOT apply to UK customers who already have special rules, allowing them to start an accounting year on the sixth day of the month.)
  • When registering add-on modules, you will be informed not only that it incurs additional costs, but exactly how much these costs are. Similar when registering new users, including time loggers/project managers.
  • New currencies have been added: Pakistani Rupee (PKR) and Egyptian Pound (EGP).

Bank Integration improvement

  • Bank integration is now an add-on module – initially for Polish customers only, but we’ll be adding more countries as we get more banks on board for the bank feeds.

Project Management improvements

  • The Employee Statistics and Employee card reports now contain two additional columns: “Invoiced” and “Profit”. “Invoiced” shows how much has been invoiced (transferred) from time entries, while “Profit” simply corresponds to “Invoiced minus cost price”.
  • When closing a project, any entries created now get a project reference.

Supplier bank payment improvement

  • The payment type IBAN is now available for all customers.

Fixed asset improvement

  • It is now possible to import fixed assets.

API improvements

  • Entries now expose the Project dimension. Additionally, it is now possible to search for entries related to a particular project.
  • It is now possible to create and delete accounting years.
  • It is now possible to delete budget figures.
  • It is now possible to retrieve PDF's for current invoices – these will, however, contain the “DRAFT” watermark.
  • A new invoice line search function has been added, allowing the retrieval of all invoice lines from a specified invoice number interval in one go. On a side note, this will actually contribute to making the e-conomic iPhone app synchronize much faster.

New local functionality

Germany
  • A warning is now shown when creating accounts to alert users that they need to adjust report code account intervals accordingly. Also, the creation of accounts is now logged.

Poland
  • The VAT reconciliation report now hides the “Estimated VAT” and “Difference” columns (since this report is used somewhat differently in Poland).

Sweden/UK
  • Partial invoicing is now also available for Swedish and UK customers.
