Future improvements to the Stock Management module

Our Stock Management add-on module will be improved and updated in 2011

e-conomic's Stock Management module allows you to stay updated with your stock and lets you generate discount groups, order products, create product variants (e.g. sizes and colours), and much more.

The overall aim with the Stock Management module is to provide a basic Stock Management functionality to our users.

Basic Stock Management

By 'Basic Stock Management', we mean:

Simple management of items with no production involved. Basically, this refers to handling of additions, status and disposals of the same products. Finance integration based on average cost price. This means that you can see what your stock is worth calculated in cost price. Other functions related to stock, e.g. discounts and price structures, language layer, adjustment options, i.e. opening, obsolete stock, shrinkage, adjustments of quantity, cost price etc.

What's coming up?

Our users have been very good at providing feedback on which improvements they would like to see in our Stock Management module. With this input, we have now made decisions on which features to adopt in 2011 - while all the time keeping in mind that we want to offer a basic and simple Stock Management functionality.

As a result, we will implement updates that will make our system easier to use and/or which will benefit the largest number of users. In fact, we have already started this process with the release of a number of Stock Management improvements as part of our ongoing release of System Improvements.

Here is the full overview of coming and already implemented improvements to the Stock Mange module:

Features already implemented

Import prices in foreign currencies. Import price lists. Import stock adjustments. Multiply product collections on invoices to make it faster to add product collections and remove duplicate items.

Coming features related to quantites and product names

Determine 'Minimum quantity in stock' and 'Minimum reorder quantity' for a product to give you an easy overview and allow you to generate reordering reports. Edit product names and descriptions on supplier invoices, receipts and supplier orders.

Coming features related to supplier orders

Add a customer name to a supplier order (to make drop-shipping easier). Combine mutiple customer orders into one supplier order. Improve the optional text field on orders to facilitate ordering of products that are not stocked.

Other features

Payment term “Paid in cash” on supplier invoices. Drill-down list for products that are 'Ordered' or 'In stock' in the product list to allow a clearer overview.
