Thermo Kemi ApS in Kastrup has canceled the weekly visit from the bookkeeper.

The sales and service company Thermo Kemi ApS in Kastrup, the agent for 25 different enterprises across Europe, has canceled the weekly visit from the bookkeeper. All bookkeeping records are now managed in the online accounting software e-conomic allowing the financial consultant from the company Numerus and Thermo Kemi to work online in the same system.

- In 2005 we needed a new bookkeeper, and our accountant recommended the consultancy Numerus, which again recommended us to use the online accounting software e-conomic. As a result, we no longer need the weekly visit from the bookkeeper. I send out invoices myself via e-conomic and use the scanning feature to import payable invoices into e-conomic. In this manner, they are available in the system, and the financial consultant handles the rest, Helle Holmgaard explains, owner of Thermo Kemi.

Helle Holmgaard has collected all prices in e-conomic and thinks it’s fantastic that you can sit at opposite ends of the country and work in the same system – as long as there is access to the Internet. This means that Thermo Kemi no longer has to spend time or money on a bookkeeper visiting to do duplicated work. At the same time, the responsibility for the performance of the accounting system has been outsourced so they no longer have to think about back-up and updates.

Obvious advantages

The consultancy Numerus has 35 employed financial consultants performing bookkeeping and accounting tasks for a long range of companies, and they have experienced an increasing trend in online accounting, which offers a number of obvious advantages for small and medium sized enterprises.

- We perform tasks for many different companies – both large and small, and e-conomic reveals its advantages in particular where there is a need for entering the system from a distance, i.e. the company can cooperate with the external accountant or bookkeeper. Increasingly more companies see this as an advantage in terms of both time and money, Maria Buch-Jakobsen explains, owner of Numerus.

Based on modules

Besides the financial and time-related advantages, Maria Buch-Jakobsen points to the module structure of the e-conomic solution, which is a further advantage if e.g. a company and its needs grow over time.

- All companies using e-conomic has the opportunity to choose different modules and platforms according to their individual needs. This means that many companies start with a small license and as the company’s needs increase, the license can be expanded to include more functionality, says Maria Buch-Jakobsen.

According to Maria Buch-Jakobsen, bookkeepers and accountants may also benefit from the obvious advantages of servicing their clients via online systems as it allows them to offer customers more and better services both faster and more efficiently.

- We can offer our customers round the clock assistance if e.g. a situation that requires immediate help arises – as long as we have access to the Internet. And it doesn’t matter whether we’re located at opposite ends of the country, says Maria Buch-Jakobsen.
